Fluffy the Cloud Puppy Children's Book
I designed the book cover for the 40 page children’s book draft that I wrote, illustrated, and typeset. The story follows a girl who finds a puppy in the mountains, a cloud puppy! She returns the puppy to the sky and learns the meaning of "if you love something, set it free."

Book Cover Process
The cover highlights the relationship between the main characters and includes a handwritten title. I experimented with different title and character placements until reaching the final version.
Draft vs Final Cover
I refined the art style and color palette for better contrast in the final cover.
Full Book Thumbnails
I started with the thumbnail process at a bird’s-eye view as I developed the story. Then I kept track of my progress on the color rough illustrations with it. This also helped with balancing the book's visuals.
Developing the Style
I experimented with different styles from flat vector to textured. The final style has clean shapes with textures inside for shading.
